Expressive Typography

Helvetica, created in 1957 by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffman, is known for its clean lines and simple shapes, which launched it to fame in the mid-20th century. However, modern designers often critique it for lacking personality. To challenge this perception, I developed a type specimen booklet that transforms Helvetica into a rebellious rock star. The booklet narrates Helvetica's wild quest for stardom, each spread becoming progressively more chaotic as the typeface tries to shed its “boring” reputation. The journey builds to a dramatic finale, closing with a rolling credits sequence that leaves readers entertained and inspired by the typeface’s vibrant transformation.
